Queue
A system that holds messages or tasks for consumers to process separately from the request that created them. Delivery, ordering, retention and retry guarantees depend on the queue and its configuration.
You might see: job queue, message queue, task queue
In a real project
After a workshop photo upload, the application places an image-processing task in a queue. A worker can create smaller versions without keeping the visitor waiting for all the processing.
A common mistake
Assuming every task arrives exactly once and in order. Check delivery guarantees and make repeated processing safe where duplicates are possible.
