Running a product

Logs

Records of events emitted by software while it runs. Useful logs include safe context such as time, operation and source version, helping you connect an observed failure to what the application actually did.

You might see: application logs, runtime logs, event records

In a real project

A failed workshop booking leaves an error record with a request identifier and release version. You follow that identifier through the relevant processing steps without recording the student's private message.

A common mistake

Pasting credentials or entire private requests into logs. Record useful diagnostic context while excluding secrets and unnecessary personal content.
