Watching selected signals about a running system to detect failures or changes that matter. Availability checks, errors, measurements and alerts can reveal different problems. Each alert needs a clear condition, owner and useful response.
You might see: service monitoring, uptime monitoring, operational alerts
In a real project
The workshop monitors whether its booking endpoint responds and whether accepted bookings are being recorded. These checks catch different kinds of failure.
A common mistake
Checking only that the home page loads. A live page can coexist with broken booking, payment or delivery behavior.
