How the web works

Frontend

The part of an application people interact with: its content, controls and visible states. On the web, browser-side code handles interactions, while some page content can be prepared on a server before it reaches the browser.

You might see: client UI, user interface, browser interface

In a real project

A workshop visitor chooses a date, sees available sessions and receives a clear loading or error message. Those visible interactions belong to the frontend.

A common mistake

Treating a hidden button as permission enforcement. Browser code and requests can be inspected or changed; trusted services must check access to protected operations.
