Running a product

Application email

Messages an application sends outside its own interface, such as sign-in links, confirmations or receipts. Sending involves a mail service and delivery process; request acceptance, delivery and a person's action are separate observations.

You might see: transactional email, mail delivery, outbound email

In a real project

The workshop sends a booking confirmation. Its system records the send operation and later checks delivery evidence, while preserving a useful booking view even if the message is delayed.

A common mistake

Treating an accepted send request as proof that the recipient read the message. Track failures and design retries so uncertainty does not create duplicates.
