How the web works
Domain name
A human-readable name in the internet's naming system, such as example.com. Registration controls the name; DNS records describe destinations, and hosting serves the website. A domain is only one part of a complete URL.
You might see: domain, website name, registered domain
In a real project
The workshop registers a memorable domain and points its website records to the chosen host. Its pages can then use that name in their public URLs.
A common mistake
Confusing the registrar, nameserver and host. They can be different services, and changing one does not automatically configure the others.
