Staging environment
An environment used to verify changes before they serve production users. It aims to represent relevant production behavior while using deliberately chosen configuration, data and service destinations for safe testing.

In a real project
The workshop tests a confirmation workflow on a staging address using invented bookings and test recipients. The same release can then be reviewed before production publication.
A common mistake
Assuming a different URL isolates everything. Inspect credentials, databases, mail destinations and payment mode; a staging page can still connect to live services.
